As of January 2020, “Saules veselības centrs” offers consultations with oncologist-chemotherapist Dr Signe Plāte. In cooperation with “Medicīnas sabiedrība Gaiļezers” LLC oncology patients will be able to receive chemotherapy course at day-care hospital. The services are offered to provide patients with the possibility of receiving oncologist opinion-consultation on their own initiative, particularly if there is a long waitlist for consultations provided by the State. Oncologist chemotherapist will make a treatment and follow-up plan before and after chemotherapy, provide answers to questions about their health condition, and the patient will receive professional monitoring after a curing cancer.
Board member of “Medicīnas sabiedrība Gaiļezers” LLC Krišjānis Ritovs emphasises: “We have assessed the situation and, in the view of the increasing number of oncology patients, we believe that patients may sometimes need an additional opportunity to ask all the questions of their interest without haste and to have an explanation of their health condition and further treatment. Due to this reason, we will offer this service, and we are pleased to be able to offer consultation of a highly qualified expert at “Saules veselības centrs” as well as chemotherapy at “Medicīnas sabiedrība Gaiļezers” LLC. We hope that extending the service opportunities to oncology patients in Latvia will provide additional opportunities and will help to achieve better results of treatment.”
Oncologist chemotherapist consultation and chemotherapy will be paid services. The appointment is planned for one hour for each patient. They will help the doctor to get as much information as possible and choose the right treatment. In addition, this information will help save time and effort, because it might be that some examinations have already been done and will not require a second one.
