There is a certain pressure in the blood vessels of the human body called blood pressure, which ensures normal functioning of the body. Blood pressure depends on the volume of cardiac contractions and the volume of blood released from the cavities of the ventricle, as well as by the vascular tone. There are three types of blood pressure: arterial, venous, and capillary.<\/p>\n

Arterial blood pressure is the pressure in the arteries. It is easy to measure it on the upper arm by a special device, a sphygmomanometer also known as blood pressure meter.<\/p>\n

High arterial blood pressure above 140\/90 mm Hg causes serious health problems. Increased blood pressure above normal is a disease called arterial hypertension. This is a serious disease that requires an increased attention and treatment as it can lead to serious diseases, including kidney disease, stroke, etc. in the long term.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
